The new gameplay series video for L.A. Noire - Investigation and Interrogation - was released today, focusing on those important skills that players will need to master in order to conquer the game. This trailer is comprised completely of in-game footage and shows how the player will interact with witnesses, suspects, clues and the environment in order to solve a case.
We see many elements at play, including a dialogue system somewhat akin to that of Mass Effect but with the player able to incorporate some evidence into his questioning. The game looks to be based around the idea of putting you straight within the detective work and immersing you in the world, which is odd given that past Rockstar-published games only let you shoot things in a linear fashion.
Despite all my venom at Rockstar, I can see that they’ve made an effort in picking this title up on to their roster. It's a gorgeously realised world and that facial recognition technology looks better than ever. It appears that as the player progresses through cases and gets promotions, they'll earn intuition points which they can spend on eliminating wrong questions or finding hidden clues. But check out the trailer for yourself for all the details.
L.A. Noire is shaping up to be quite the title.
