Ridley Scott discusses storyboarding

By Tim Pelan

Here is an interesting video with Ridley Scott in The Art Of Storyboarding series, via Openculture.com.

The Prometheus director talks about his art school background, how he always has an artist's eye view of wherever he may be, and how he plans each scene beforehand using storyboards, to hit the ground running with his actors.

He recalls a lesson drummed into him at art college was: “Get rid of the white canvas. Get something right across the canvas. Otherwise you’re always looking at that area of white, which is like a blank sheet.” I have grim memories of art lessons like that myself, Ridley!

Prometheus opens in the UK on Friday June 1, as if you needed reminding.
